Since some people have been asking for them, I will give you the chords tabs and whatnot that I know. I'm just going to go for the chord progressions for now. If/when a tab spot gets set up I will do a more in-depth job. Great Ghosts- A* 54XXXX G#* 47XXXX F#m 244222 E 022100 Dmaj7 XX0222 D XX0232 And the progression goes A*, G#*, F#m, E, Dmaj7, E, D (as soon as he starts singing) (More to come later, I just wanted to get that on as soon as possible. Sorry about not having the little fills yet, but like I said as soon as the tab page is up, if it does go up I'll put the full thing on there) Bill |

THE GLOW (note: didn't have sheet music so might not be right) F The glow... C Followed by... Bm Am Oh... ...oh Am Am7 The snowy blow repeat. this isn't accurate at all, but this is what I like to play when it is the glow's narration: e-----3 repeat a bunch, then B---1-- G 0---- e-------3 B---1---- G--------- etc. repeat. D 3------- end on C chord ("I started to glow) then it is C and F about a trillion times. I'll go into specific fills later. |

thanks, I'm going to try to get all of the glow pt. 2 (album) on here in the next week or so, I've prettymuch got it all figured out. |

I personally like the Lyrics/chords layout (if that is what you're talking about). With a tab box for riffs and such. Of course how much I'll need of each will depend on the song. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/m/microphones/the_glow_part_2_tab.htm Something along the lines of that, but don't use that one, it's not really all that good. |

I agree with Billthepirate's idea. as for a song, how about you'll be in the air? absolutely love that song, but I hate trying to figure that one out. thanks alot! |

I'm just going to do the chords, tabing it would take way to long. They are fingerpicked, and if you listen to the song you can figure out the pattern. (Everything is a barre chord) C#m You'll be in the air... E And in some hours you'll be over the sea, F# Lost in the other passengers on the plane. I know that Sand (Eric's Trip) is pretty much all C major, and D first inversion(notes that make this up are B, D, G), A major and then G major. That's it besides the addtion of an Inverted C(same notes that make up a C just "inverted") at the end of the song. I haven't tried to take on the task of figuring out too many more songs. I can't play guitar yet, although I can play a ukelele and I can play piano/keyboard and a slew of other intruments. --------------------------------------- (the lowercase letters above the words are the one note leads that I play in the song, the big letters are the chords, and when a lower case letter is side by side a capitol letter, the note and the chord are mean't to be played simultaneously: of course these notes need to be an octave higher than the chord.) Right, I'm doing the Tablature section ("Be The Mount") all this week, so I need you guys to help me out considering I know nothing about tabs or playing guitar. Can anyone take all the songs contributed here and put them in one set, unified format? (eg. that one that looks like: |------------------7-7-7-7-7-3-3-3-3-0-0-0-0-| |---7----7----7----7-7-7-7-7-3-3-3-3-0-0-0-0-| etc) That would be fabulous if it's possible, since it just looks smarter if everything is formatted the same. the things is (I don't blame you for not knowing this, given that you don't play guitar), that some songs work a lot better just playing straight up chords, so, both for someone writing it out, and someone reading/playing it it works better if it's the one that looks like: A Bm blah blah blah blah G Qb shubba shubba shuuuu! I know that I wouldn't mind if there was a variety how the tabs/chords are set up, as long as they're all correct and look nice. You'd be hard pressed to find a guitar tab site that doesn't have a huge variety in how the tabs are set up. I think it's just something that's hard to control. |

this sounds more precise than the other version that was posted, but, the other one is a thousand times easier.. how on earth do you stretch your fingers to play that final chord? goldenemotes_1.gif i can't seem to play that chord.. i try to play it like this (im not going to tab it out because the bass notes stay the same.. its a little bit easier to me, but i don't know if its better -----0-0---- -----0-0--- -----1-1--- -----2-2---- --4--- ----- |

Agreed, the one I did isn't in the right key, but I find it a lot easier to play. Precision isn't really a phil elverum trait anyway. I was glad to see the other version though, it does sound a little better. |

There is a version above. But i'd like to see another. There are programs you can use but i don't know anything about them. I'd reccomend the lines with chords or manually showing the tab as shown in "the moan" above. Thanks in advance. |

for 'between your ear'... the beginning riff is just an F# scale. i really don't remember exactly how the riff goes, but it's simple to figure out. it starts kinda like a---1 e-2-4---2 ..... and so forth from there. maybe i'll edit this when i'm not so lazy. the chord part is tricky cause he has like 50 guitars layed and they're all playing variations of a B to B/Bb. some of them are: variation 1: x2x002 to x1x002 variation 2: x24xxx to x14xxx variation 3: 799xxx to 699xxx |

I'd recommend people use Power Tab editor (power-tab.net). The timings can take a little getting used to, but it's a great way to make tabs. I'd also like to suggest that the tabbers are able to post a Powertab version of their plaintext tabs, it helps out a lot for a non-musician like myself goldenemotes_5.gif. A note to the site's submitter, please leave more of the post in when transferring tabs to the site. For instance, From Wind's tab of "Sand (Eric's Trip)" makes very little sense without his explanation of an "inverted D", with which i believe he means a Dsus4. Also, I'd like to point out this version of "I Felt Your Shape". http://ofadam.com/steve/ifeltyourshape.htm I didn't write this version, but I think it sounds nicer. Not to knock the submitter of the version here, but I think this version is also the more accurate. |

Hey, I was wondering about the Sand (Eric's Trip) tab. First, what is meant by "Dv1"? I'm just a beginner so I don't know every chord. I also looked in my chord book and online and couln't find it. Can someone make a diagram of it for me? Also, the other chords don't sound correct and it also sounds like there's something else after G chord in the verse. Can someone help me out with this and maybe post a correct tab or explain the Dv1 chord at least? Thanks. |

I admit to not knowing how that tab was put together. It makes no sense to me at all. the progression is bassically C, G, Am, G over and over, except for the "from the knife in your hand to my..." line which goes to F before the pattern starts again. I hope that helps. |

Hey guys, i thought i'd try and take the "i felt my size" chords and line the chords up with the words. im not sure if its right though. anyways, here it is.

Alright, this is a start, someone with a much better ear than mine might be able to both build off of this/figure out when each chord goes where. For reference I am using Dionises, Chicago Track 9 from bootlegs section. Phil pretty much gives you the chords note by note in the intro. here's how i play "i felt your shape"; it's correct, just moved down on the neck. i actually found a youtube video by someone who explains how to play the song the way i do. he's a good guitarist who teaches all kinds of stuff (microphones, beirut, nick drake, etc.) his username is cougarman7 if you're interested. Yeah, on that video he plays those chords for the intro. But i have heard other recordings where he doesn't play one and goes straight to the song. To bad there isn't a studio recording yet so we could know for sure. I figured out "Flaming Home" this morning and thought I'd share by way of introducing myself around here. I think it's mostly right (lyrics too). The song is split into 3 main sections, it's a really unusual structure. I've included the chords at the end. The B2 I've listed is just the 7th fret barre chord version. Live Phil seems to use this chord later in the song and the 'standard' version of B in the beginning section. Either way, it's an amazing song and I can't wait for Lost Wisdom to come out. When I play this, I'd change all F#minors to F#s. Technically, your tab is not F#m, it's F#5, which sounds better, F#m is wrong I think. E 2 B 2 G 3 D 4 A 4 E 2 or E x B x G x D 4 A 4 E 2 |
